A straightforward and practical comparator for assessing the washability of water-washable or postemulsified penetrants is the stainless steel test block. When a product's capacity to be removed from a surface has diminished in comparison to new material, the "grit blasted" finish offers a rough surface that will retain background. SKC-S Cleaner/Remover should be used to completely clean and occasionally refinish the test block (grit blast).
